Getting out of my comfort zone, opening myself up to new adventures and truly listening for a change was more rewarding than I could have imagined.

As an introvert, I signed up immediately, then questioned my commitment for days. A group of strange men hiking together? WTF? Why did I sign up for this again?

All that vanished when I set foot on the trail and realized I was with a group of guys truly interested in growth, connection, and leaving their egos at the trailhead. It suddenly felt like "rare air", and I was glad I came.

Participating in good men. | works.in.progress. was the first time I was able to reflect on who I am becoming without the pressure of maintaining who I present as in that moment. In order to work toward your next, you need an opportunity to be honest with yourself and provide the space to grow. The experience provided just that, and so much more.

- Colin P. M.

Time to reflect, let your guard down, and connect with other men is needed in the world today. This experience helps bring more intentionality to your next steps in your life, work and relationships.

If you’re hesitant about participating, I’d offer this: show up anyway. The name – [good]men and “works > in > progress – assures you’re likely among others who feel hesitant, men who want to make more of a difference in some area of their life. We’re all working through something. Having space to vocalize it, outside on a hike, felt entirely natural and safe.

Christian’s ability to deftly guide a group with right prompts and not force an experience on participants is essential to what makes it work. What you get out of it isn’t prescribed – it’s felt, and that is entirely dependent on engaging in ways that make sense for each individual.

The event was really eye-opening for me. I was able to open up and reveal things that I did not even know were eating at me and I needed to get out. In a way, it helped me look inside myself and connect with something that I always knew was there but was not willing to show others.

Being with a group of [good]men willing to not only admit their shortcomings but also work towards being a better man was liberating.

This experience was truly a gift. Slowing down and meeting with men, who are equally hungry for this work is rich with potential! I left feeling that my body, heart, and spirit had been worked in ways it hadn't in quite some time, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

- Eric L.

I said this at the end: This was a lot tougher than I thought it would be. I'm not sure what I expected exactly, but it wasn't that I would be getting so deep into my psyche. Just opening up to myself and looking for what was weighing on me, and then confronting that topic, was powerful.

I tend to withdrawal when I'm bothered or upset. The group allowed me to to that to a point, but it also allowed me open back up as I was able and as I wanted to do so.

Christian has developed a platform where men can feel comfortable talking about things we wouldn’t normally talk about. The hike he guided us on not only challenged us physically at times but also gave us a ton of natural beauty to soak up. All in all a fantastic experience.

I really enjoyed [good]men “works > in > progress" This 5-hour hike in the woods and connection with other men connected deep within my soul as to this is how men are supposed to live, in deep community with one another. We live in a chaotic world. This reminded me that we are made to connect in a safe place.

- Kasey R.

As men we don't often share - or feel permission to ask - much more than what's on the surface.

[good.men] “works > in > progress” was the perfect platform for sharing with and listening to other men, all while in the beauty of nature (and burning some calories while you're at it).

- Wes L.

As men, we often feel the need to “have it all together” to show confidence and strength. What Christian, and his [good]men “works > in > progress” program, provides is the space to let that barrier down. It provides the rare opportunity to be intentional and immersed in what we don’t have all together and to find true confidence and strength in knowing that that’s what makes us human. We live our lives with too much width and not enough depth. This experience flips that script entirely.

I recently attended Christian's [good]men hike. Unsurprisingly it ran very smoothly but more importantly great conversations were had, all while enjoying beautiful scenery. I found the mix of individual and group hikes satisfying. It was nice to have conversations with other men and then have some individual hiking time to reflect. Thoroughly enjoyed the curriculum and the other men in attendance and would definitely do it again and will recommend to some friends!

Life can be pretty routine and predictable. [good]men “works > in > progress" provided a unique opportunity to break out of life's traditional confines to engage in profound and personal interactions with other men. It's an experience I would recommend to all men, whether you are in a state of contentment or transition. We can all benefit from a safe space for deep personal reflection.

I can't recommend this experience more. Christian was an amazing host, and his process allowed me the time for reflection, time to deeply listen, and the time to be heard. It's not often that we get to experience that range of important human experiences in one morning. The work I did that day and the work the other men did that day was invaluable to me. It reframed my thinking on several things I had recently been stuck on. I loved it!

The “works > in > progress” hike was a great experience. I met amazing people that I hope become friends. And I learned valuable lessons as I figure out what to do in the next chapter of my career. Christian challenged me in ways I did not expect. The event inspired me for what the next chapter of my life can be.

Christian created an intentional, engaging way to do the needed work, and the best testimonial I could give is that I would travel near and far to do this experience again and again. [good]men “works > in > progress” is filling a need, and I am grateful for the experience.
